The Kiwanis Club of Emmaus has been serving the community for over 55 years. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The Emmaus Club uses the generous donations of local businesses and citizens to help underwrite the costs of Kiwanis sponsored community activities. These activities are designed to benefit Emmaus-area citizens, mainly youth. Previous events have included our annual children’s Easter Egg Hunt at Community Park; a Holiday Party for physically and mentally challenged citizens; sponsorship of local baseball and softball teams; and semi-annual road clean-up projects.
In addition, our club sponsors the Emmaus High School Key Club and Builders Club for teens. We also provide money for college scholarships to outstanding high school students who have achieved academic or community service success. In the past we have also provided financial support for students’ participation in HOBY, Presidential Classroom, and People to People Student Ambassador Programs.
The Emmaus Kiwanis Club is looking for financial donations to assist with the rebuilding of the playground on Ridge Street, just across the street from the Emmaus Public Library.
The playground is outdated with wooden structures and is a safety hazard to children.
We need your help!
The cost of the project is approximately $30,000.00. We are anticipating a spring re-opening (2007) of the playground provided we have met the financial obligations of the playground equipment.
