June 23rd Miracle League Outing
The game might have been called due to one of the Yankees teams not showing up because of staffing shortfalls. The issue was quickly resolved when it was decided to split the attending Yankees franchise in two. Plaaaaaaay Ball! As usual, everyone got a hit, everyone won………..and a good time was had by all!
The Kiwanian lineup included: Rhode, Holmes, Durant, rookie Justin Bennett, Gaynor, Rhoads, The Lojkos, Caserta, Ruch & Sieger.
July 7th BOD Meeting
Brag Bucks: Linda Salter announced that her globetrotting kids returned from their African adventure virtually unscathed. What’s this talk of Malaria? Probably just a cold!
The meeting proceeded smoothly as a summer BOD should. For more details, please refer to the Official Board Minutes published on our website.
PLEASE HELP! Ron Glassic is heading up the 50/50 drawing & there are still tickets to be distributed. All unsold tickets & money have to be turned in to Ron by August 1st, so that they can be redistributed. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Ron needs helpers to move the last 35 unsold 50/50 tickets. To accomplish this, Ron has scheduled a booth at the Emmaus Farmers’ Market on Sunday, August 1st. If you can help staff the booth on Sunday, Aug. 1st from 10am – 11am, please email (Rglassic@KNBT.com) or call Ron.
Unless noted, all meetings are held @ Perkins Restaurant, 6:15pm
July 14th meeting
Brag Bucks: Donna Butler reported that her son, Adam, is now married as of June 5th. Donna also announced her “passing the gavel” as chief of the Special Court Judges Assoc. of PA. Paul Gaynor reported that his wife Lily is now back working at Nordstroms which is a big relief. Phil Weber was pleased to announce that his daughter is now a nurse at Christiana Hospital. Linda Salter memtioned that Alysha & Marvin celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary last week. They agreed that the frozen piece of last year’s wedding cake tasted awful!
Program
Our own Ron Glassic presented an informative talk about new banking rules which will take effect of August 15, 2010. Specifically, the “Opt-in” policy for extended overdraft protection. Overdraft charges can range from $10 - $75.00 per transfer, depending on the bank. Ron suggests we all call our bank to make sure we are protected.
